It was recently announced that Del Mar Water Polo Club Head Coach Brett Ormsby was chosen to serve as Assistant Coach for the USA Youth National Team.

Serving as Assistant Coaches to Lynch are former National Team members Dan Leyson and Brett Ormsby. Lynch has been with the Youth National Team since 2000 leading the group to great success most notably at the Youth Pan American Games with gold in 2005 and 2007. Leyson, a USC graduate who competed with the National Team in the mid-90s also served as Assistant Coach for the Men’s Senior National at the 2004 Olympic Games, helping the team to a seventh place finish. Ormsby, a UCLA graduate was a 2004 Olympian in Athens and competed with the Men’s Senior National Team through 2007. He currently directs the Del Mar water polo club in San Diego.

“I am very excited to work with both Dan and Brett,” said Lynch. “Dan was the former assistant to Ratko Rudic and Brett was an athlete on that 2004 Olympic team so both have a great deal of international experience and will be great additions to the Youth National Team staff.”
